Jari Peltomäki

Director, author, wildlife photographer, tour leader, photography mentor

Jari is professional wildlife photographer (born in 1965), living in Liminka Finland.
There he run his own bird tour and wildlife photography business Finnature Ltd.
He has been taking photographs since he was a small boy, and turned professional
thirteen years ago. His main interest lie in bird photography, but his photo material
is quite extensive, including shots of mammals and landscapes as well,
both from Finland and abroad. Jari´s speciality is Great Grey Owls in his home area, but he has been also travelling widely for his photography.Jari has been leading birdwatching and photography tours e.g. to Japan, Mongolia, India, Russia, Israel,
Greece, Hungary, Romania, Spain, Iceland, USA, Canada...

Jari´s images has been used in magazines and books worldwide.
Jari was elected as chairman of professional Naturephotographers
of Finland in 2007. His photographs has been awarded in numerous
international competitions, including the Wildlife Photographer
of the Year (WPY) competition by BBC a couple of times and
his photograph of Red-throated Diver won his the title of the
