Owls of Finland in Oulu and Kuusamo
Finland is famous of having 10 different owl species breeding in good vole years. Oulu and Kuusamo areas are good areas for 8 owl species; Eagle-, Great Grey-, Ural-, Hawk-, Short-eared-, Long-eared-, Tengmalm´s- and Pygmy Owl all breed in the region.
Please notice that owl situation and availability vary between years! However it looks very promising for the summer 2011, especially in Kuusamo area- where vole populations are increasing at the moment!
Other species might include Finnish specialites Black-throated Diver, Crane, Little Gull, Red-flanked Bluetail etc.
Finnature arrange only these two workshops for Owl photography during their breeding time in Finland.
